1.
How do I download your videos? |
|
First of all
you need to purchase a membership (click
here to join).
Inside the member's area, you will see the different
categories of videos we currently offer. Pick the video
clip you want to watch and click the "Download Now"
button. The video will begin downloading to your hard
drive immediately. |
|
2. How long does it take to download your videos? |
|
All of our video clips are
screen sized to 640 x 480 format, it may take 20 to 30 minutes
each, depending on your connection speed. Obviously the faster
your connection, the less time it will take to download. Each
video clip averages 200 MB each. We rendered all of our videos
in scene segments, while retaining the highest quality image
possible. |
|
3.
What
is your video viewing policy? |
|
You will have 30 days of
unlimited access to this site, which allows you to download as
many videos as you want for that 30 day period. Each video you
download will play for 7 days, no matter how many times you
watch it. The videos you download will play even if you are
not connected to the internet. You must be 18 years of age or older to view any of
our videos. |
|
4. Can
I download videos using a regular dial up modem? |
|
No,
unfortunately your connection would terminate before the
file was completed. Our videos are geared towards Cable
Modem/DSL users. |
|
5. What are my
computer system requirements? |
Windows 98
SE, ME, 2000, or XP
Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher with Cookies enabled
(default setting)
Windows Media Player 9 or higher (DOWNLOAD
IT FOR FREE HERE)
Broadband connection, either cable modem or DSL (speed of 128kbps or higher)
Encryption strength set to 128-bit
Internet Explorer set as default browser
900 MHz Intel Pentium III processor or higher
128 MB of RAM
65,000-color video display card set to display at 800x600
or higher (video), color quality set to 16-bit or higher;

|
6. Can I play your
videos on a Mac? |
|
Currently the Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology
does not support Macintosh operating systems. DRM is a
Microsoft product and they have not made the technology
available for Macintosh at this point. |
|
7. When I download and try to play your videos, it asks for a
"license", what does that mean? |
|
The license refers to the Windows Media technology
authentication code. It will automatically download the license
the first time you play any of our videos. It will also ask for
your username and password to verify you are a current Trashy
Video subscriber. You can ignore the "Purchase Content" and
"Purchase Information" areas of the video license box. No
further purchases are required once you buy a membership to the
site. |
|
8. What if the download speed is very slow
or the videos don't play smoothly? |
|
The speed to download the file may decrease remarkably when
virus scanning software or personal firewall software is
running. Turn it off. Videos may also play poorly
if your computer is trying to do multiple tasks at one time
(virus scans, instant messengers, etc.) Large video files may
require your computer's full resources in order to play
properly. Our videos
play at a very high data rate and are very CPU intensive.
They may not play smoothly on slower computers. If the
video stutters or plays choppy during playback your
computer is not fast enough to play them. It is important that
you try viewing our sample clip before purchasing a
membership. |
|
10.
Will I need to be connected to the internet to watch your
videos? |
|
Yes and No.
You do have to be connected to download the videos themselves.
After that, you can watch the videos you downloaded off your
hard drive as many times as you like without being online. The
exception to this is the first time you play any video
downloaded off the site. Your Windows Media Player will have to
acquire a license to "unlock" the video which will require an
internet connection. |
|
11.
Are
your videos good quality ? |
|
Yes, they
are near DVD quality and in 640 x 480 screen size format. All
videos are encoded at 30 frames per second for high (300k)
bit rates. The videos are encoded for use with the Windows Media
Player. Image and sound quality are superb. We highly
suggest downloading a sample video to see for yourself
(Click here for a sample) |
|
12.
How many times can I watch the videos I download? |
|
Each video has
a 7 day play period. You can play the video as many times
as you like during that 7 day time frame. The period does
not start until you play the video for the first time.
After the 7 days are up, the video will be unusable.
Simply delete it from your computer. |
|
13.
Do
I have to have a membership to download videos? |
|
Yes, there is
a membership fee to download our videos, but once the
membership is purchased, it allows full access to all of
our video clips. The memberships are on a single month
basis, so you do not have to worry about cancellations or
recurring charges. You will find the membership fee to be
much more economical over buying and downloading videos on
an individual basis. You can come back and download as
many times as you want during the 30 day subscription
term. |
|
